Mark 2:25-27

²⁵ He said to them, “Have you never read what David^(A) and those who were with him did when he was in need^(B) and hungry^(C)— ²⁶ how he entered the house of God in the time of Abiathar^(D) the high priest^(E) and ate the sacred bread^(F)—which is not lawful for anyone to eat except the priests^(G)—and also gave some to his companions?” ²⁷ Then He told them, “The Sabbath was made for^[a] man and not man for^[b] the Sabbath.^(H)
